Objective
The creation of a poster series exploring Radiant Tomorrow: Poetic Visions of an Afrofuture. Through the thoughtful use of typography and imagery, the series visually interprets the authors’ works, highlighting how their visions of the future intersect, inspire, and resonate. Each poster is designed to complement the others compositionally, forming a cohesive narrative that celebrates Afrofuturist creativity and imagination.
Research
As I began my process, I started by researching the poets and their works to understand how they embody the concept of Poetic Visions of an Afrofuture. The ideas of these three poets reflect the importance of embracing the unique experiences of being African American, while challenging and breaking through the barriers imposed by society.
The Poets

Concept
These poets speak for the people, challenging past restrictions and asserting that power belongs to everyone, not just the white man. Their art, like Afro culture, is bold, colorful, and unapologetic—much like graffiti. Radiant Tomorrow expresses opinions through their work, reflected in the dotted patterns and vibrant colors of the posters.
My audience is communities intertwined with oppression. I see African Americans engaging with these posters to learn more about Afrofuturism, Black utopias, or decolonial aesthetics. This event matters because it offers hope for building a better future, where future generations are treated equally.
In three words, the concept is provoking, impactful, and bold.
